The Best Tents

The best tents are really just the tents that fulfill all of your particular needs. These needs will vary based off of what the person is using the tent for and when and where they are using it. In this page I’ll try to go over the various types of tents and how you can take advantage of them.

First off, there are three main styles of tents. These styles include the dome style, the A style, and the tunnel style.

The A style is the oldest tent style and literally shaped like the letter A. It is built so that the sides slope right down from the center point.best tents Tunnel style tents make use of curved poles so that the slope doesn’t just angle right down. This allows for more interior room and makes the tent more comfortable. Dome tents also use curved poles, but do them in such a way as to add much higher volume inside the tent. The dome tent is the most spacious of the three models.

The best tents style for you will depend on how much room you want in your tent, how quickly you will want to be able to setup your tent and how much weight you want to carry. A style tents generally take a long time to put up, are heavy, and not very spacious. I would not recommend this style of tent. Dome tents are a bit heavier than tunnel tents and can take longer to setup, but are much more spacious.

You’ll next want to decide on whether or not the best tents for you are summer, winter, or three season. Most winter tents are fine for all 4 seasons and will have layers you can strip off of them for summer use. Summer tents however can not be used for winter excursions. Three season tents are great for people that plan on camping in fall, spring, and summer. Its best to choose the tent that covers everything you need, but nothing more. This way you’ll be able to buy the lightest possible tent for your needs.

The Best Tents For You

Specialized tents make the best tents for people looking to do specific things with their tents. For instance mountain shelters do not have floors in them which makes them great for digging trenches in the bottom of the tent for more space and added warmth.

Always remember that the best tents for you might not be the best for somebody else and vise versa. One might need a 3 room tent while others might only need a small one person tent. Check out my other pages on large tents to learn more details on what to look for in a particular tent size.
